THE
ATHENA SOCIETY OF BURLESON is composed of 18 women who have
received the prestigious Athena International Foundation Award for professional excellence and
community service. The mission of an Athena is to assist
women in realizing their full potential, participating in the
community by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of
life for others, serving ethically, with dignity, grace and
sensitivity.
In October 2003, these National award winners formed the Athena
Society of Burleson with the primary goal of reaching further into the
community to help Johnson County residents, cancer patients, their
families and their caregivers. After six fundraising events, the ATHENA Society has presented over
$250,000.00 to organizations that provide support for Johnson County
residents battling cancer.
The ATHENA
SOCIETY OF BURLESON is a non-profit 501(c)3.
