Ask anyone who knows
Brenda Gammon and they will tell you she isn’t just a great
person – she’s a force of nature, passionate about helping
others and enriching the lives of everyone she meets.
Brenda is originally from Dallas, but moved
to Burleson in 1998. She has years of professional experience in
the financial world. Originally she worked in the world of
credit unions and health insurance, then transitioned into life
insurance agent and a registered representative in the
investment arena.
In 2007, Brenda and her husband, Gregg took
the next logical professional step by opening Gammon Financial,
PLLC in Burleson’s Renfro Square (I35 & Renfro). The goal of
Gammon Financial is to help people to live a life on purpose and
retire on purpose. The Gammon’s know this strategy will keep
their clients safe and free from becoming trapped by their
finances. Brenda has a special interest in helping women achieve
financial security and independence through education. Opening
Gammon Financial has also enabled Brenda and Gregg to become
more active in the community, and promote the message of a
“living life on purpose” to people in all aspects of their
lives.
A 28 year cancer survivor, Brenda is
deeply devoted to helping people with cancer “truly survive” the
process and “thrive” with healing. Being the 2010 Athena Award
recipient allows her to do even more for this worthwhile cause.
As an Athena she will be in a better position to help raise much
needed funds for Johnson County residents with Cancer Services.
An extra special benefit close to her heart is the Careity
at the Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders located at Huguley
Memorial Medical Center. Careity helped open this center with
money directly raised by Athena Society Mardi Gras.
Since moving to Burleson,
Brenda’s past community involvement has also included serving on
the Board of Directors for CASA of Johnson County, serving on
the Relay For Life Committee (in 2008 she was Burleson’s Relay
Event Chair and 2009 was on the NTX Regional Council), and is
currently serving on the Board of Directors for Huguley Memorial
Medical Center and a Commissioner on the Planning & Zoning
Commission of Burleson.
Brenda is an active supporter of the Burleson
Chamber of Commerce and served on committees that include: the
Chamber Gala, Taste of Burleson, and BISD Teacher Appreciation.
She was instrumental in beginning the Chamber’s monthly Lunch
and Learn to enrich the lives of Chamber members through
education.
A woman of strong faith, Brenda is an active
member of St. Matthew Cumberland Presbyterian Church in
Burleson. Brenda and her loving husband Gregg live in Burleson,
TX. Brenda’s son, Matthew, and his wife Ashley, live in Georgia.
Her daughter, Jenny, and husband Andy, live in Crowley. Brenda
has three adorable grandsons, Jack, Wilder, and Ashton.
One of the things that make Brenda such an
asset to the community is her genuine nature. With her “what you
see is what you get.” And, what you get is a loyal friend,
devoted wife, mother, grandmother and community activist. Brenda
is the champion to be reckoned with and relied upon, whatever
the cause, wherever the need.
